Our Treatments

Numerous medical studies show that complementary medicine treatments improve the daily functioning and quality of life of cancer patients. The integration of conventional and complementary medicine allows for the best possible physical and emotional coping with the disease.

The treatments:

Types of Treatment: We focus on providing treatments that involve direct contact between the therapist and the patient, based on the understanding of how vital human touch is when facing illness. Our therapists offer a variety of methods: Reflexology, Shiatsu, Swedish massage, Thai massage, energy healing, and more. Each session lasts approximately 40 minutes.

Wanted / Admiel Kosman
“Wanted: a quiet place for the soul to rest, if only for a few moments. Wanted: a place to serve as a foothold, if only for a few moments. Wanted: a flowerpot, a leaf, a stem, or a bush, that will not rise and fold when he arrives, if only for a few moments. Wanted: one word—clean, pleasant, and warm—to serve as a bench, a shelter, for someone who has stepped out of the Ark for a few moments, and found no rest for his feet.”

Here are some of our most common treatments:

Reflexology

Reflexology is a holistic therapy that works through gentle pressure and massage of specific points on the feet and hands. According to reflexology, these areas reflect the entire body, and different zones correspond to different organs and systems. By touching and stimulating these points, the therapist aims to encourage balance within the body, support relaxation, and activate natural regulatory and healing processes. For many people coping with cancer, reflexology is experienced as deeply grounding. It may help with nausea, pain, fatigue, emotional tension, and the sense of being overwhelmed.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese therapy rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. The word Shiatsu means “finger pressure.”

The treatment includes gentle pressure along energy pathways in the body, combined with soft stretching and movement. Shiatsu is performed fully clothed and without the use of oils.

Rather than using force, the therapist works with body weight and presence, creating a sense of containment and calm.

For many people, shiatsu supports both physical and emotional balance, easing pain, tension, anxiety, and restlessness.

Acupuncture Treatments

Acupuncture is a complementary therapy that has been practiced for thousands of years and is widely used today as supportive care for people coping with cancer.

At the Yuri Stern Holistic Support Center, acupuncture is offered with great care, gentleness, and professional responsibility. Treatments are adapted to each patient’s medical condition, treatment stage, sensitivity, and overall well-being.

Acupuncture at the Center is intended to support physical comfort, emotional balance, and quality of life, alongside conventional medical care.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, the body is animated by a vital energy often referred to as Qi, which flows through pathways known as meridians.

When this flow is disrupted — due to illness, stress, emotional strain, or medical treatment — imbalance may occur, which can manifest as pain, discomfort, or fatigue.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin, sterile, single-use needles at specific points along these pathways. The goal is to support balance, stimulate the body’s natural regulatory systems, and encourage ease and flow.

From a modern medical perspective, research suggests that acupuncture may:

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy involves working with muscles and soft tissues through touch, movement, and pressure. At the Center, massage is specifically adapted for people coping with cancer.

The focus is not on deep tissue work, but on comfort, relaxation, circulation, and relief from physical and emotional strain.

Massage may help reduce pain, muscle tension, anxiety, and fatigue, and may support better sleep and overall well-being.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy offers emotional support for coping with illness, treatment, and life changes.
Therapy may include conversation, body awareness, guided imagery, creative expression, movement, or breath work, depending on the therapist’s approach and the patient’s needs.
The focus is on creating a trusting relationship where feelings can be expressed safely and without judgment.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is an extremely gentle hands-on treatment that works with the nervous system and the body’s subtle rhythms.

Through light touch, the therapist creates a safe space that allows the body to release deep patterns of tension related to stress, trauma, or illness.
Many people describe the experience as deeply calming, sometimes accompanied by emotional release or a sense of inner quiet.
